We are generalists, we have staff who cover the majority of work at a reasonable cost, and we will not take on work beyond our short term ability.  Nothing is too small, and if something is too big or specialist, we will let you know up front.  If in doubt, we will visit, and if the work is not in our scope, there is no charge, because we are interested in the quality of our work, and we want you to call us again.

A specialist is someone who is trained to a high degree in one area, and will likely charge a lot of money for his expert services (we understand plumbers are now charging around £75 an hour in Chiswick.)  We need specialists, but not to replace tap washers. 

DIY Rescue

We provide professional assistance to the DIYer .If you are happy doing things for yourself, but need help with a specialist area such as plumbing or electrical work we can help you.

 

If you have overestimated yourself in time or skills in a DIY project, we can help.  We wont tell you everything you have done needs to be stripped out and started again, but we will ensure that what you have done is safe and functional and either finish the project or get you to a point where you are happy to continue.

 

What we don’t do:

Gas fitting.  Make sure you use a REAL corgi registered plumber and keep the receipt (for your insurance co if it goes boom!)

 

Roofing /Guttering  This is an insurance issue, we cant get cover for working at height at a reasonable cost.

 

Drain clearing.  Aaargh !  Do call Thames Water, they may be able to help for free.

 

Building/Construction work.  See links.
Provide emergency callouts.  Not our thing, if you are concerned in general Direct Line offer a maintenance plan, but its not cheap, and it doesnt seem to cover all the costs.
